When Scrat accidentally catches a continental cataclysm with a hurricane, Manny splits from Ellie and Peaches on an iceberg with Diego, Sid and Granny but he promises that he will find a way to return home. While crossing the sea, they are captured by the brutal pirate Captain faction and their crew. However they escape and Manny plans to steal the Captain faction’s ship and return to his country in a perilous voyage through the sea. But the ruthless pirates seek revenge against Manny and his family and friends.

The Scratch Acorn’s discovery of Scrat’s nut, which has been since the dawn of time, has its world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the biggest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantonment grandmother, and the herd encounters Menageri, a ragtag of pirates who is determined to prevent them from returning home.
