Storyline:

A film based on the television series accuses Jim Phelps and his team of preventing a traitor from stealing and selling classified material. By the time they were chasing the man, everything was going well and everyone on the team was killed needlessly, except for Ethan Hunt. Ethan then calls the director and goes to meet him when he finds out that the entire mission was to ferret a mole that has been suspicious for some time.

The director shows evidence that suggests Ethan is on the lookout, but Ethan is aware that he is not, so he escapes. Ethan then arranges to meet the buyer and whom he warns against using the material he possesses and when they meet, he offers to tell whom he paid in return which the mole is telling . Ethan, along with Phelps’ wife Claire, helps recruit two displaced agents that won’t be easy.
